5.3 Scanning Polished Metal Parts

In image points with SPECULAR REFLECTION, the image sensor can be OVER-SATURATED.

Depending on type of sensor and on degree of over-saturation, result can be:
- ARTIFACT of vertical white line in the image and/or
- ARTIFACT of horizontal white line in the image and/or
- "BLOOMING" of the reflection area in the image and/or
- CORRUPTION of the entire image signal

Avoid this situation by using illumination of the OVERCAST-SKY type (fig. 5_2_a in para. 5.2).
